Before you impulse buy a new pair of shoes, ask yourself if you could spruce up an old pair instead. Give your current shoe collection a good polish to keep them supple and water-resistant. Have broken heels and soles repaired rather than throw them out. You might be surprised how nice your shoes look after you give them a mini-makeover. If you'd rather not wear your old kicks, donate them to a thrift store or check out nike's reuse-a-shoe program that recycles worn out sneakers of any brand.
