You see the problems that arise today before anyone else does, but you have to be careful about how you alert everyone to them. If all you do is point fingers and complain about how things are not what they could be without offering any constructive ideas, you are whining: not helping. So before you raise any red flags, think of a possible solution. That way, when you are pointing out a problem, you are also pointing out a way to fix it: and thereby making yourself invaluable.
