Vinegar isn't just for salads: a thirty-two-ounce bottle costs a fraction of conventional cleaners and doesn't pollute (detergents are found in almost seventy percent of the waterways). The smell disappears as the vinegar dries and acts as a deodorizer, too. The white distilled variety can clean toilets, windows, and countertops, and also soften fabrics and kill weeds.
