Before you head for the chemicals, consider old-fashioned and environmentally non-toxic methods to clean your drain. Get a plunger or a plumber's snake. If those don't work, alternate baking soda and boiling water: pack the drain full of the powder and let it sit for ten minutes, then follow with a quart of boiling water. Repeat until the drain is clear.
