You can't help caring. It's your nature. So if someone asks for your opinion, warn them that it's tough for you to be objective. All you can really offer are your feelings, especially if you're involved in the outcome of the situation. At the very least, they'll appreciate your honesty. At best, they'll listen to what you have to say: and maybe learn something from you, too.
